Bio

Macklen Mayse grew up dumpster diving for treasures in Kansas and Missouri. Now she lives in Brooklyn, New York where she makes found object sculptures. She uses her body as form to create live durational performances where she works in partnership with the sculpture and architectural space. Endurance, meditation, curiosity, humor, and sensuality are part of the practice. Her recent work is an exploration of the intimate relationship to self, to others and to the environment. Digital video, puppetry, and photography are also part of her practice. Mayse continues to perform and exhibit works in New York City.
